Regional visa programs set as priority

Australia’s Minister for Immigration, Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs (David Coleman) is looking at improving regional visas programs “to get migrants to struggling regional communities”.

Australia already has regional visa programs in place, however it is believed that these programs are not working. The goal of the government is to see migrants living and working in regional Australia for a minimum of 5 years, with the hope that they stay settled in regional areas.
